The Delridge Grocery Co-op is an all-volunteer organization at this time and we rely on folks from our community to pitch in to keep our store running, pack weekly produce boxes, drive deliveries on Saturdays, and more.
Essentials Box Packing and Distribution
Every week, we need volunteers to pack our Essentials produce boxes on Saturday mornings as well as distribute deliveries throughout West Seattle.
The packing job is a great way to get to know our staff, and is also great for teens who are looking for volunteer service hours. It’s about 2 hours of work (9-11 on Saturday) and we promise no heavy lifting.
The delivery job requires you to have your own vehicle, and use of a smartphone to follow our routing system.

Retail Shifts
We currently have a smallish cohort (composed of board members and core volunteers) who have been staffing the Co-op during open market hours, but we need to expand our pool of volunteers to both cover our current market hours and expand the days and time that we can be open.

Volunteer Coordinator
The Delridge Grocery Co-op is looking for an outgoing, organized candidate who can help to recruit, retain, and schedule volunteers for the Co-op’s growing needs (including working retail shifts at the store, driving deliveries, and filling additional core volunteer roles). All DGC roles are currently staffed by volunteers — staffing the store, driving deliveries on weekends, ordering products, cleaning the store, etc.
The Co-op needs a dedicated resource to publicize volunteer opportunities, recruit individuals for volunteer slots, communicate with previous volunteers, help organize weekly schedules, and communicate with core volunteer leads. Work will be done via Microsoft/Google office suites, Slack communications app, and Signup Genius web app. Familiarity with social media posting is not necessary but definitely helpful.
Time Commitment: 3-5 hours a week, Unpaid Volunteer
Marketing Co-Manager
The Delridge Grocery Co-op is looking for a creative person who can help lead our marketing initiatives to help get the word out to a wider audience as well as communicate weekly specials to our current customer base. Will work with current volunteer marketing manager to develop weekly email communications, social media postings, in-store signage, and more. Must be a strong writer, able to work with basic image software, and be familiar with creating posts and stories on social media.
Work will be done via Microsoft/Google office suites, Slack communications app, MailChimp email platform, and social media sites (Facebook, Instagram, NextDoor, etc.).
Time Commitment: 4-6 hours a week, Unpaid Volunteer
Grant Writer
The Delridge Grocery Co-op is looking for one or more people who can help research potential grant opportunities and to help write grant applications. This will entail online research, possible phone contacts with granting organizations, and drafting grant applications with the help of DGC’s core group of board members and volunteers. Grant writing experience not necessary but definitely helpful. Work will be done via Microsoft/Google office suites and Slack communications app.
Time Commitment: 10-15 hours a month, Unpaid Volunteer
